Bird Banding

Beautiful October day, and our Lincoln Flickr group had a Flickrwalk at the Chet Ager Nature Center, Pioneers Park. I biked out on the Bison bike trail -- a first for me. Very nice trail. And then an excellent bird banding demonstration by one of the Nature Center volunteers.

Interesting stuff: a bird that was banded in Lincoln was reported two years later along the Amazon river in Brazil. Our volunteer once found a robin that had been banded 14 years earlier.
